Aluminium Frames completed - Welded and Drilled Sheet Metal Back Panel prepared
This week we worked on the frame of the displays. First, we drilled holes for the screws which will later hold the whole display together.
The next step was welding all parts together. Before that the edges were chamfered, then scrubbed with a wire brush. To make a seamless weld, the parts need to be free from any grease which was accomplished by cleaning them with acetone. After a few test attempts on excess material it worked out quite well.
Since the best price value sheet metal option was 25 centimeters to wide for the power shear of our school, we had to come up with a different approach. Therefore we opted for the circular saw.
