Cutting Sheetmetal Parts and Tubes for Electronic Housings and Display Stands
This week we cut all the sheet metal parts for the various boxes to size. We also cut the tubes for the display stands to the right size and at the right angle. At first we had the idea of cutting the sheet metal parts with the motorized guillotine shears, but these didn’t give us the required precision with our material thickness of 4 mm. In addition, smaller parts bent during cutting. That’s why, like last time, we switched to the hand-held circular saw, which improved the cutting edge and accuracy considerably. We cut the recesses for the boxes in the back wall of the display with a jigsaw. (time lapse). Bending the tubes at the same angle on both sides was also a bit of a challenge at first, as a deviation of a few degrees from one side to the other would mean a crooked stand. However, we were able to solve this challenge with a small auxiliary construction.
