Canoe Polo

Canoe polo is a very spectacular contact sport where every player sits in his own kayak.  As one of the only team disciplines in kayaking canoe polo provides a lot of fun to the player but also to spectators. 

The team which scores the most goals within two ten minute halves wins the game. To advance the ball into the oponents goal, which is suspended two meters above the water, players are allowed to use eighter their hands or paddle.  

To hinder the opponents from getting to close to the own goal the defenders use all of their power to paddle them backwards and furthermore use their paddle to block the ball.  Besides the effortful defense, sprintheavy fastbreaks ensure a unique game dynamik.

Every team has 5 players on the 35x23meters pitch which is bordered by floating lines. Up to 3 substitutes wait of the pitch and are allowed to rotate at any time.
